Please proceed with the following steps to seamlessly migrate your aText snippets to Typinator.
Export your abbreviations from aText
- In aText, select the snippets you want to export.
- Right-click and choose "Export selected items for macOS's Text Substitutions" format.
- This creates a
.plistfile on your computer.
Import your abbreviations in Typinator
- Open Typinator
- Click the actions tab in the main menu and select Sets > Import.
- Choose your exported
.plistfile and import it.
After completing the import process, please quit aText to test your imported abbreviations with Typinator.
Windows to Mac
To migrate your aText snippets from Windows to Typinator on macOS, follow these steps:
- Download and install the free version of aText on your Mac.
- On your Windows PC, export your snippets as an aText file.
- Open aText on your Mac and import the exported file.
- From the Mac version of aText, export your snippets as a
.plistfile (like described above). - Open Typinator and import the
.plistfile.
After completing the import, quit aText to ensure there are no conflicts, then test your abbreviations in Typinator.
