Typinator Mobile Beta

Important: If you haven’t installed Typinator 10 Mac beta yet, please read Typinator 10 beta first. There you’ll find all the details about beta testing and how to send us your feedback or ask for help.

We’re excited to announce the availability of the first beta version of our Typinator mobile companion app.

Please be aware that this beta version is strictly confidential. Do not share the app, screenshots, features, or any information about this build with anyone.

Typinator Mobile

Once the latest Typinator 10 Mac Beta is installed on your Mac and the migration has completed successfully, you can begin testing Typinator mobile.

Note: Typinator Mobile is a companion app. It only displays sets and abbreviations that you create on your Mac, you cannot edit them on the mobile app yet.

Enable iCloud Sync on your Typinator Mac

To sync your abbreviations to your mobile device, you need to enable iCloud Sync.

  1. Please make sure your have your iCloud Drive enabled and you have enough storage left: https://support.apple.com/en-us/118443
  2. Open Typinator Settings and go to Sync & Mobile (Attention: Your System language needs to be set to English to access this).
  3. Select the Enable iCloud Sync checkbox.

Note: Please don’t enable iCloud Sync on a second Mac at the moment, as this can result in duplicated sets. We’re already working on enabling this feature properly.

Install Typinator Mobile

Precondition: You need the app Testflight to install Typinator.

  1. Download Testflight and get Typinator Mobile
  2. Open Testflight and install Typinator.typinator_m_install.png
  3. Open the Typinator app on your iPhone.
  4. If it doesn’t open automatically, tap the keyboard icon to start the keyboard setup.
  5. Click "Open Keyboard Settings".
  6. Open Keyboards. (If the Keyboards item is not listed, please close the settings and press the "Open Keyboard Settings" again.)
  7. Enable Typinator.
  8. Enable Allow Full Access.

Updates: We’ll roll out new mobile versions whenever new features or improvements are ready. Updates will appear automatically in TestFlight, and you’ll receive release notification emails directly from TestFlight. Please always check if you have the latest available Typinator Beta Mac version installed.

 

Use Typinator Mobile

After enabling the Typinator keyboard, you can use Typinator Mobile in any app on your device.

To activate Typinator keyboard, switch keyboards using the globe icon (long-press it to select Typinator).

Change the keyboard layout

  1. Open the Typinator keyboard in any app
  2. Look for “EN” on the space bar
  3. Press and hold “EN” to open the menu and choose a different keyboard layout

Known Issues

  • Formatted abbreviations are not supported yet
  • Only Dates and Calculations are supported as dynamic content
  • The user interface is currently available in English only
  • Not tested or optimized for the iPad
