Getting started with Typinator Mobile

To use abbreviations on your mobile devices, you need to install Typinator and enable the Typinator keyboard. This allows the Typinator keyboard to insert your text expansions.

Install Typinator Mobile and enable the Typinator keyboard

  1. Install Typinator Mobile. 
  2. Open the Typinator app on your iPhone.
  3. If it doesn’t open automatically, tap the keyboard icon to start the keyboard setup.
  4. Click "Open Keyboard Settings".
  5. Open Keyboards. (If the Keyboards item is not listed, please close the settings and press the "Open Keyboard Settings" again.)
  6. Enable Typinator.
  7. Enable Allow Full Access.

Use Typinator Mobile

After enabling the Typinator keyboard, you can use Typinator Mobile in any app on your device.

To activate Typinator keyboard, switch keyboards using the globe icon (long-press it to select Typinator).

Add a keyboard layout to the Typinator keyboard

  1. Open Typinator.

  2. Tap the Settings icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Go to Keyboards → Languages.

  4. Select the language you want to make available for the Typinator keyboard.

  5. Click Edit to change the order or remove Languages.

Change the keyboard layout

  1. Open the Typinator keyboard in any app
  2. Look for “EN” on the space bar
  3. Press and hold “EN” to open the menu and choose a different keyboard layout
